What System Restore actually does is it helps you to restore your computer's system files to an earlier point in time. Step 5 Enter the description you want to give in the space provided and then click on ‘Create’. A menu appears which shows you the status of creation of restore point. The time take to create the backup or restore point depends on the amount of data and the performance and speed of your system etc.

Step 6 Once the creation of backup has been completed, a message appears saying creation of restore point has been completed. Click on ‘Close’ option to complete the process.

Step 1 Right click on the destination folder or drive where you lost your file. For e.g. your file got deleted in ‘My Documents’, then right click on ‘My Documents’. A drop down menu appears.

Step 5 A message appears that file has been successfully restored on your system. Click on ‘OK’ to complete the process.
